Discipleship

Our Strategy

Life - Truth - Life Format

Our goal is to prosper in prayer, improve in evangelism, to contribute to the Church (globally and locally), and to forbear as brothers and sisters in Christ.

  • Starting Point
    • Colossians 1:28-29
      • "Proclaim and Present" the truth of Jesus Christ to others.
  • The Church is the basic discipler of believers.
    • Believers are baptized into the Church where discipling and fellowship can begin.
    • Pastors/Elders disciple members by teaching God's Word (2 Timothy 4:5, Romans 10:17).
      • Discipled members disciple others.
      • We are a congregation of members responsible for one another.

In the Church, mature disciples teach in Word and deed to draw in new or immature believers (2 Tim 2:1-2).

In the Home, parents teach in Word and deed to draw in their children.

  • How to Disciple
    • Choose someone to disciple.
    • Have clear aims.
      • Set realistic and effective goals centered around Scripture to teach the person and work of Christ.
    • Pay the cost.
      • Discipling means sacrifce; time, energy, hospitality. It is worth it and it is our calling (Matthew 28:19).

Characteristics of a Disciple-maker

  • Mutual Love
  • Humility
  • Kingdom Mindset
  • Eternal View

Churches don’t need programs so much as they need cultures of discipling, cultures where each member prioritizes the spiritual health of others.
